The Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund, an initiative of the European Commission implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), is available again from 3 February 2025 to 5 December 2025. This grant scheme offers financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in the EU by reimbursing part of the costs associated with intellectual property (IP) services, including trademark registration.
Who is Eligible?
The SME Fund is open to businesses that meet the EU’s definition of an SME. To qualify, businesses must:
- Employ fewer than 250 people, and
- Have an annual turnover of no more than €50 million.

Funding Details
The SME Fund provides financial aid through vouchers that can be used to cover part of the costs of trademark registration. The vouchers can cover up to 75% of the official fees for trademark applications at national, EU and international level.
More specifically, under the SME Fund 2025 program, SME’s can get:
- 75% reimbursement of fees for trademark applications at EU or national level,
- 50% reimbursement of basic fees for international applications.
The maximum funding amount for trademark and design fees is €700 per SME and the refunded amount is always deposited directly into the SME’s bank account.
